WHAT RAM
For most people, RAM or random access memory just another of these tech names, and they do not know what it much less as you upgrade them. Well short of RAM is basically a way for computers that things temporary storage. In other words, RAM contains information about what you are working, and is off when your computer, that information is written to be lost or the hard disk. There are three types of RAM which SDRAM, DDR SDRAM and RDRAM are.
HOW DOES IT WORKWORK
RAM works by accessing your hard drive when you submit an application for let's say a Word document of RAM is that Word document as you work on it and then it will be transferred back to the hard disk for permanent storage. RAM is the same for data that is transmitted is not necessarily on your hard disk for permanent storage, such as accessing the Internet. Obviously, there are a lot of information about the technical aspects of the RAM that I will be excluded here that keepDiscussion focused.
WHY RAM UPGRADE
Depending on how much RAM you actually on your system, you may want to consider an upgrade of installed. Most people with little knowledge think that their computer processing speed is entirely dependent on the speed of the processor, though it is processor speed important, it is not the only factor in the speed of your computer. The CPU or processor is limited by the amount of RAM installed on a system are and how fast that RAM can access data thatThe processor must process too. (Have you got everything?) Basically what it boils down to this RAM helps to increase the speed of your computer. Therefore, a computer with 1 GB of RAM is installed much faster than a computer that will be installed only 256 MB.
HOW TO UPGRADE RAM
Upgrading RAM is a fairly simple process, and also quite cheap. The first thing you need to know is what kind of RAM you have installed and how much. You can use these information fromwhen you use a window operating system like Vista or XP by using the Control Panel and click the System icon. I have installed 1 GB of RAM on my system. Well, if I wanted to add, let's say another GB on it and make it 2GB of RAM I would buy and install, have in my system. To this end, I could no large retailers that are in RAM and only buy enough for the extra GB (Also note that some machines have limits on how much RAM you go to get help.) If youweary of what RAM modules are compatible with your system, please contact the manufacturer of your computer, and they will help you not determine what is compatible with your system. (Hint: You can also find out what kind of RAM your computer is by accessing your support motherboard manual that if you is not) If you bought the additional RAM DIMMs everything to do the actual installation , again a fairly simple task, because most computers are plug and playcompatible and automatically detects the hardware change and adapt. Open the computer tower and locate the RAM slots, which could be based on the make and model of your PC it each 2-4 slots (Note that I'm discussing here is not just desktop machines, laptops.) After positioning the next available slot, simply insert the new module into the slot careful note of the woods right on the DIMM and the locking of the module position. If the DIMM does not fit, you have probablyit is positioned wrong, so turn it over and try to insert it again. After the RAM module in place pressure on the locking clip to secure it and replace cover your tower. From this point everything should be done once they have power to your computer and go back to ensure the System icon in Control Panel on your computer to the new DIMM is recognized and functioning properly.
