Welcome to the Cadillac of photo-enhancers: Photoshop CS!

Retouching in Photoshop can be a breeze ... But until you learn how. The program Photoshop CS is a powerful application, you could spend years just the basics mastered.

Most of us do not really need a master in Photoshop. What most of us want is the flexibility, integrity and variety of choices offered by Photoshop.

Let's take a brief look at some of the basic photo correctionPhotoshop CD that you really need. Here are the first steps are recommended by experts, and they represent the process that they apply to all photo:

1 - first and foremost, duplicate the template and work only on the copy.

In this way, if something goes wrong, you always have the original. This is a good habit to get into.

2 - Next to insure the proper resolution. There are two basic types of "resolution" in computer graphics: the monitoringResolution and image resolution.

The image resolution is low (about 72 pixels per inch, or ppi) to high () something 300 ppi or larger. Of course, the higher the resolution, the larger the file.

To the resolution of your image, click on "Image", then change the "Resolution". On the bottom left of the box that appears, type in the ppi you want, ppi, for example, 300th (You will probably want to change the size at this point. That's okay, you are still on the ppiyou chose.)

3- Use your Crop tool ( ) from the toolbox to shape your picture the way you want it.

Many people don’t notice the width and height options underneath the top menu, but it’s a very handy feature.

At times you have an exact measurement you need to fill; rather than fiddling with the numbers after you crop, the proper way is to insert the width and height immediately after clicking the Crop tool, and then making the crop, dragging down diagonally with your mouse. The precise measurements notice to appear without a fight.

4 - Experiment with your automatic adjustment of the functions. Click on "Picture" from the top menu, then "Settings." You'll see options for automatic levels, contrast and color. Once you've tried it, you can go ahead and train in polishing, if you like.

You can also try Image> Adjustments> Shadow / Highlight (or "variations"). You will be surprised at the variety of preset options.

How do you ganimagine there are infinite variations on the themes represented by these basic steps and the decisions reached there.

But Photoshop extended and passed them out into the real plan, offers an unlimited range and a universe of possibilities.

Your only problem will be how to break loose.
