Troubleshooting Laptop Computers

I turn on my laptop and upload it to the login screen. I have Windows XP Professional and the laptop is a Toshiba Satellite M35X-S109. If I did not sign me up for less than 1 minutes, the computer crashes. I have tried the computer on and off, but it frezzer. I think I had to do somthing, when I downloaded virus protection from sbc dsl

Tip: Start system and now with "safe mode" is accomplished by pressing the F8 key repeatedly to load before Windows starts to open (you know that you do it right, if aMenu will appear when you want to run to load Windows in Safe Mode or with a few other options, ask), select Safe Mode (not safe mode command prompt only or) in Safe mode with network support. The touchpad (or trackball) is not expected, and the screen looks funny. Go into the Control Panel and remove the software and reboot. That may fix it, even if not running in safe mode, system (Start, All Programs, Accessories, System Tools, System restore) again and select a DateInstallation of this software.

I own a Sony Vaio laptop and I'm with CD drive problems. I insert a CD and now it does not recognize inserted on the computer. Have you tried multiple CDs, checks your computer several times and still nothing.

You've probably already said, but a CD lens cleaner can work wonders. You could also try an explosion of air spray in the side. If it's a hair or dust on the lens will not be able to see "the disc other thanThis is not the laser properly aligned.

The screen display is rotated from landscape to portrait and I'm turning my head to the screen wiew.

Sounds like the display settings has been changed. Right-click an empty area of your desktop and select Properties from the menu that appears. This opens the Display Properties window. Somewhere there should be a setting for screen rotation, or similar wording attitude with which you change the orientation.

I have a GatewayThe laptop is just barely a year old. The other day I went to turn the power on and nothing happens! It was working well before that date. Someone said that it could be a wave problem. Any ideas?

You could try to remove the battery and try again and on AC power to work alone. If this works, then try the battery and turn it on again. If it does not work with the battery and works without it then I suspect the battery may be defective. Modern laptop batteries have circuits insidetell the computer how much charge they have. The batteries are the weakest link on all notebooks. If there is not even on AC without the battery, then a multimeter and check the output of the adapter and then compare them with the technical data printed on them. It should not be less than 1 volt from the specified range, for example, when he says: 14.2 V and 13.5 then measure, there is a good change it's bad.
