Troubleshooting Printing Problems

In this sectionHere are some of the most common problems that to 45 percent of support center calls.

If anything occurred since the last time you used the printer is, chances are the problem is quite simple. As obvious as it sounds, check to make sure that the printer is turned on. It is entirely possible that someone is perhaps out while not at your desk or computer. Make sure paper is properly connected and it is the power to the printer. All Printershave some sort of LED that lets you know if it is turned on.

If the printer is turned on, but has some flashing lights, then see with your owner's manual, which means to check the light. Most of these indicators are available either on paper, ink or toner in context.

Make sure that enough paper in the printer. Refill the paper tray when it is empty. Make sure "fan" the paper before you print them in the stack. If the stack of paper is cut and packed in the factory, itsometimes causes glue the sides. Fanning the paper, it has turned over the stack of paper with your thumb. The ripple separates the paper, thereby reducing paper jams.

If the paper is well-stacked, then check for a mis-feed or paper jam. Remove the stack of paper and check the feed area for the jammed paper. You may have to make several disks in order to open a thorough examination. Even put a little piece of paper into the printer can cause problems. You may need to useCutting forceps to remove small pieces. Be sure to avoid any contact with the tweezers, spare parts for possible damage.

If everything above is available, then check the cable that connects the printer to the computer. You may be using a parallel or USB connection. Make sure the cable is properly connected. Turn the unit off and remove and re-insert ensures the connection to the printer and the computer to a fixed connection. If you connected at work and the printer, seems to be a telephone, then you should call your home network expert.

If the printer only works seemingly illegible garbage to print, then that is a good indication of a problem with the printer driver. Try re-booting the computer and the printer off and on again before making any changes to the driver. If after a reboot, you still have the problem, it's probably time to replace the printer driver. You can install the drivers from the Web site URLs that were previously inthis article. Follow the manufacturer's instructions given to install your driver.
Scanners can sometimes conflict with printers. Try re-installing the software for both, but install the printer driver first, and the scanner driver for it.

If nothing is listed above results in a solution, then it is perhaps time to call the printer manufacturer. Make sure that you have in the vicinity of the printer when you and call all your warranty information in hand.
